Our Journey
The idea for Code4Cause was really unforeseen, however, the
passion to make an impact on our community by following our interests
was always present. It really all began one night where we all were sitting on our friends porch, staring
into the cosmos, thinking about what we could do to benefit our community.
After generating and contemplating many ideas - some that we all laughed about and some that had great potential -
we ultimately decided to call it a night with our heads full of
ideas and determination. The next day while we were walking, we decided
to get some ice cream at a new shop. We went on google to find the shop’s timings and to see what flavors they had.
To our surprise, we found that the ice cream shop didn’t have a website as it was
a local family-owned store which likely did not have the resources or
skills to create a website. In that moment, we knew it was our opportunity to
use our love for computer science to help our community. We realized that so many
local and small business didn’t have access to modern software and there truly was
a digital divide separating these companies from success. What the ice cream shop,
among other local businesses, needed was a web development agency that could design custom websites at no cost to the company.
Invigorated, we went home, and a few texts between the future co-founders later, and
Code4Cause was officially born.
